DRAGONS RACE RECAP

DRAGONS RACE RECAP

These past couple of weekends have been packed with incredible efforts from our members, taking on everything from fast city streets to challenging trails and seaside views—and even marathons during a storm!

Congratulations to everyone! Whether you smashed a PB or simply enjoyed the journey, you’ve made this club proud.

Here’s to many more miles ahead! 🐉🏃‍♂️

Leeds Abbey Dash – A staple in our race calendar, the Abbey Dash saw 17 Dragons speed out of the city centre to Kirkstall Abbey and back, being cheered on by several members on route. Congratulations to all who took part and thank you to those who came to support!

Calverley Chaos – Club captain Rob flew the flag at the 12km Calverley Chaos trail race. As it suggests, this was no ordinary race – the scenic, but tough route along the Leeds-Liverpool canal offered a mix of terrain and a bit of chaos thrown in, but our skipper was more than up to the task, and fantastic too that Carolyn volunteered to help on the day!

Manchester Half Marathon – Well done to Eddie and Kimberley (who completed this distance for the very first time!) Known for being a flat and fast route, the Manchester Half is an ideal first and offers a great opportunity to smash personal bests.

Yorkshire coast 10K – A few members swapped city streets for coastal breezes to attend another Dragons favourite! Despite the wind and rain, they were treated to stunning views along the Scarborough coast. But the real treat? The fish and chips reward at the end – you definitely earnt it!

Punk panther 10k trail – Not only did Sally complete the race, but also went above and beyond by volunteering as a marshal and lending a hand with kitchen duties over the Nidderdale weekend. That is all-round dedication!

Rat Race Sea to Summit – Manuel continued his epic adventures, tackling the Rat Race Sea to Summit challenge. This ultra event saw him conquering not one, but three national peaks, starting from sea level. What an incredible feat – we salute you!

Yorkshire and Amsterdam Marathon – And finally, Alex, Darren and Ellie took on the mighty Yorkshire Marathon in gruelling weather conditions thanks to storm Ashley, whilst Caroline took part in the beautiful Amsterdam marathon. A serious testament to your hard work over the past few months. Huge respect from all of us! Enjoy the rest!
